Supporting Informed Donation Decisions

DonorConnect takes public education—and the decision to register as an organ, eye, and tissue donor—seriously. We believe this is a personal, meaningful decision, and people deserve the information they need to make an informed choice, whether that choice is to register or not.

Our role is to help individuals and families feel informed and confident as they consider donation. We do that through community engagement and by providing clear, accurate, and motivating education—so more people can understand the donation process and, when appropriate, feel comfortable supporting it.

When education and outreach strengthens understanding and support for donation, that commitment is typically documented and communicated in one of two ways:

  • Registering a decision: A documented, first-person decision made in advance—the clearest way to ensure that decision is known.
  • Talking with family: Some people choose to share their wishes and values with their family but prefer their family make the final decision at the time.

Our goal is to provide practical tools and consistent messaging so individuals and families can make the decision that’s right for them.
