Kidney Donation saved my life

On January 20th, 2023 the black cultural center on the University of Utah campus ended a week-long celebration of Martin Luther King Jr day with a jubilee that included music, food, vendors, games, and networking.

This was a great way to honor Martin Luther King Jr who was a great nonviolent leader/activist who encouraged equality and to understand that without Black History there wouldn't be American history.

Then on Friday, January 27, 2023 we volunteered at the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

Volunteers (Westminster students, staff, faculty, and DonorConnect staff) met at the Center for Centers at Westminster College where we helped with activity rotations for the Day of Service. We  hosted between 100-200 K-6 students from Promise South Salt Lake schools and helped them with four activities while they were there.

Each rotation lasted around 20-30 minutes. There was a science activity, a service project, a dream activity, and an athletic activity.

We had so much fun and can't wait to do it again next year.
