My name is Alice Walsh and I’m a Donor Mother. When my son Connor passed away 3 1/2 years ago, he helped improve many lives by donating his two corneas, heart valves, tissues, ligaments, bones and veins. The one thing I want people to remember most about Connor is his initiative of giving back and paying it forward. It is a gift that is everlasting. Organ donation is a selfless act that takes less than a minute to do yet can change a life forever.
I try to volunteer at DonorConnect when I’m able to because I want to inform, inspire and educate others about the value and significance of organ donation. The impact that he made when he was alive and now in his death has been significant. His memory and legacy lives on in others. Connor’s life of service and commitment to leadership has empowered others to make organ donation a part of their final wishes. I want everybody to know that we CAN make a difference in the lives of others. To the world, you may be one person, to one person you may be the world!
